Questions and Answers about CWGHR's Role in this Funding Opportunity

Q. Why did CWGHR decide to be an in-kind partner on this call?

A. HIV and Comorbidities and the health consequences of those comorbidities as individuals age with HIV are priority areas for CWGHR. Understanding the disability associated with comorbidities and the impact of interventions to prevent or address disability fall within the key research priorities on HIV and rehabilitation (Research Priorities report). We want to encourage greater awareness about HIV and comorbidities and promote the development of new knowledge in this field.

Q. What is CWGHR's role in promoting this funding opportunity?

A. CWGHR's role in promoting this funding opportunity is to facilitate and promote linkages between the HIV and disability research community, and specifically to promote knowledge transfer and exchange between the fields of HIV, disability and rehabilitation. CWGHR will be posting information about this call on our website and promote this funding opportunity with our membership.

Q. What was CWGHR's role in developing the call?

A. CWGHR participated (along with other non-funding partners and HIV research stakeholders) in a large consultation and electronic survey about priorities related to this funding opportunity.

Q. Will CWGHR be involved in determining the relevance of proposals for this call?

A. No. CWGHR will not be involved in any relevance review of proposals for this call (Team Grant: HIV Comorbidity - Review Process and Evaluation).

Q. Will CWGHR be involved in deciding which proposals get funded?

A. No. CWGHR will not participate in any funding decisions related to this opportunity (HIV and comorbidity RFP).

Q. Must CWGHR be a partner on any proposals addressing disability or rehabilitation issues?

If you are interested in collaborating with CWGHR on a proposal to this funding opportunity, please see details on the process for collaboration below.

Q. I am interested in exploring a partnership with CWGHR for my proposal. What is the process?

A. If you are interested in collaborating with CWGHR on a proposal to this funding opportunity, we ask that you provide a 1-2 page overview that outlines your proposal, how it aligns with CWGHR's strategic directions, and what CWGHR's potential role might be in the proposal. Please see details on the process for collaboration and more details on the overview below.

Q. Who will see the submissions?

A. All submissions will be treated as confidential. Only members of the CWGHR CIHR Partnership Review Committee (comprised of CWGHR staff) will review the overviews. A. No, but we encourage researchers, clinicians, service providers, and people living with HIV, to become CWGHR members. Membership (Full) in CWGHR includes the right to vote at annual meetings and eligibility for discounts on CWGHR courses and resources. Membership Application.

Q. How will CWGHR decide who they will partner with on this call?

A. CWGHR will decide based on how closely the proposed research aligns with CWGHR's strategic directions and research priorities, as well taking into account CWGHR's resources and capacity to meaningfully participate in the research at a given time.

Q. Will CWGHR or other non-funding partner groups be eligible to receive funding from within the budget of these grants?
