Mentorship Programme Expands to Thunder Bay
Following a successful six-month Pilot Mentorship Programme in the Toronto area, CWGHR is excited to have built upon this programme with the launch of another mentorship grouping. This time, we are bringing together clinicians and people living with HIV as co-mentors to rehabilitation professionals interested in building capacity for care of people living with HIV within Northern Ontario. This project is unique because it involves a panel of mentors from an interprofessional perspective as well as through the lived experience of people living with HIV as co-mentors.
The first workshop for this mentorship group was held June 12th, 2009 with a launch workshop in Toronto. Sixteen participants from Toronto as well as Thunder Bay had the opportunity to meet face to face and to begin exploring what their goals for mentorship will be over the next 6 months and beyond.
